Please complete today's nugget titled "5th Feb - English".

The handwriting is to be completed at a convenient time during the day.

Select 3 key words from the word bank and write a sentence. Make sure you know the meaning of the word and see if your sentences can be a little creative.
Complete the task above. There's a PDF version and a Microsoft word version. You decide which type of document is easier to work on.

Today, we are going to focus on the poem called ‘The Cave of Curiosity’.

1. Read the poem and see if you can identify any of the literary devices that we have been looking at this week:

  • Personification
  • Alliteration
  • Similes
  • Metaphors

2. Now, have a think about objects that you may have around the house. How can you use abstract nouns to describe them? For example, object= cupboard, the abstract noun used to describe it would be a cupboard of wonders. Have a go!

Below is an example of some ideas for your task 2. Please be creative and think imaginativelysmiley
