Main: Look at the front cover of our new Guided Reading text, Rose Blanche, below.

Activity 1: Write down your comments and responses to the front cover. What do you think the book might be about? Why do you think that?

 

Activity 2: Answer the questions below in full sentences.

2. List two things the little girl can see out of her window. (2 marks)

 

3. What questions do you have about the book from the front cover? (2 marks)

 

Red Pen: A literary theme is the main idea or underlying meaning a writer explores in a novel, short story, or other literary work. The theme of a story can be conveyed using characters, setting, dialogue, plot, or a combination of all of these elements.
