Welcome

Dear Parents and Carers

We would like to extend a warm welcome to you and your family to Binfield Church of England Aided Primary School!

As an Aided church school, we have a strong Christian foundation, which means that we take your child’s spiritual and moral development as seriously as their academic, physical, social and cultural development. Our school has been on its current site since the mid-1980s, when it was created by the merger of two small church schools at either end of the village, All Saints and St. Mark’s. Our Trust Deed makes it explicit that we are here to provide an education, first and foremost, to the children of Binfield village and the surrounding area, no matter what their beliefs. As such, we welcome absolutely everyone. There is no expectation that children and families will have a Christian faith, or any other faith (or none), and no preference is given in our Admissions Policy. The overriding priority is given to local families (i.e. distance from the school) and whether they have siblings already attending.  We are in the heart of Binfield Village and are proud to be a very good school serving its local community.

Community and team work are extremely important to us. We have developed very strong partnerships between parents, governors, staff, children, churches, local community groups and everyone else involved in the life of the school. We hope that you will feel welcome to get involved and to contribute whatever you feel able to offer to our school community.

We work hard to ensure that every child feels welcome and empowered to succeed within a caring church school community. As an ‘Advanced Thinking School’, we place a high priority on equipping children with the tools needed to develop life-long learning skills – we call these our ‘Power Tools for Learning’ (more information can be found in this section of out website). We encourage children to work hard and persevere in order to achieve their best in all aspects of their learning, whether academic, physical or creative.

Any primary school is a special place for all those who work there, encouraging high standards and genuine commitment from all who are involved. We work hard to provide an atmosphere of care, dedication and also fun! We seek to build strong foundations for all pupils so that all can be the best that they can be, developing their unique gifts and talents. We aim to give all children the opportunity to shine and flourish in all aspects of their development and be well-prepared for the next phase in their education and beyond.

Just like your children, we are not the ‘finished article’.  We are always seeking ‘to be the best that we can be’ so that your children can be ‘the best that they can be.’ As such, we value your constructive feedback and ongoing support.

We hope that our website will help you to form a broad picture of our school and answer the many questions we are sure you will have. If you don’t find what you are looking for, please ask. Visits to the school are also warmly welcomed and we have a number of open morning dates in the Autumn term.

We look forward to meeting and working with you.
