On Thursday 24th January, Y1 went on a trip to Milestones Museum in Basingstoke to support their current Toys topic. The day’s activities included playing traditional games, including Hopscotch, Dominoes, Cup & Ball and Simon Says. The children also observed and handled new and old toys, sorted them in various ways, put toys in the correct place along a timeline and played i-spy while looking at a traditional teddy bear shop window. After lunch, the children explored the museum in smaller groups. They found lots of interesting items such as old household appliances and vehicles, and especially enjoyed the old fashioned arcade games! Everyone had a great time and the children had lots of new experiences which they will be able to apply to their learning and share with their parents.
