Y4 residential trip to Ufton Court

Year 4 had a fantastic time this week at Ufton Court near Reading.  The children took part in a wide range of activities including willow weaving to make their swords, trebuchet construction and firing, battle skills and re-enactments. It was a pleasure to see them using their learning muscles and thinking skills during these sessions. ‘Bringing the Roman Period to Life’ was the main feature of the residential experience – the highlight was the spectacular Roman Banquet in the evening, for which everyone dressed up and acted like true Romans!  The staff were very impressed by how quickly the children settled into the activities, how engaged they were and how much they gained from the experience.  Well done to the Y4 children and staff!
